DETAILED PROGRAMME

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Early Morning: Cusco – Tinki – Pacchanta

We pick you up at your hotel at 5:00 a.m. for a 3-hour drive through the South Valley, with views of Inca farming terraces, traditional villages, valleys and high Andean peaks. Breakfast comes with views of the snow-capped mountains.

Here you can meet local people who still keep traditional Quechua culture alive. Learn about their traditional clothing and the meaning of the different hats the men wear, and ask your guide to teach you a few words of Quechua.

Morning: Hike to the 7 Lakes of Ausangate

We hike for about 1.5 hours, gently uphill, to the first lake. Take your time to enjoy the 360-degree views and explore the lake.

From there the other six lakes are close, and the trail gets easier, mostly downhill or flat. The lakes range from green to turquoise blue, set among glaciers, and there is plenty of time for photos.

Afternoon: Lunch, Hot Springs and Return to Cusco

After lunch, the trip ends with a stop at natural hot springs where you can relax, followed by the 3-hour drive back to Cusco. Arrival time depends on how long the group spends at Ausangate, but we usually drop you at your hotel around 5:30 p.m.
